What is Glycation?

Glycation, a key factor of intrinsic aging, occurs when excess glucose molecules bind to structural proteins, such as collagen and elastin. This multi-phase process is accelerated by external aggressors, including UV and pollution, which cause oxidative stress. As glycation progresses, crosslinking occurs and forms a ladder-like structure, causing collagen and elastin to become rigid and brittle, and resulting in Advanced Glycation End-Products (A.G.E.s).
A.G.E.s further damage skin cells, degrading their reparative ability and triggering
an inflammatory response.

Usage

Once or twice daily, massage a thin, even layer onto the entire face, neck, and chest. If using in the morning, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C antioxidant serum and before a SkinCeuticals sunscreen. If using with a retinol at night, apply after retinol application.

Helps correct visible wrinkles and laxity by stimulating collagen VII and supporting its environment, delivering 6x more than the minimum effective dose known to activate glycosaminoglycans (GAGs).

4.25% WILD FRUIT FLAVONOIDS
Antioxidant blend of blueberry and pomegranate extracts helps inhibit protein glycation, including UV-induced glycation, and protect against free radical damage.

0.1% GLYCYRRHETINIC ACID
Therapeutic anti-inflammatory helps enhance the skin's natural radiance to counter dull and sallow tone, which may be linked to A.G.E. accumulation.
